Adil Yousaf

Adil Yousaf is a theatre artist, playwright and storyteller whose work spans original writing, performance and adaptation. His plays and performances often weave together satire, social critique and human stories, creating theatre that speaks to contemporary realities while drawing on South Asian cultural and literary traditions. As an actor, he has performed in a wide range of productions from classical works such as Jean Anouilh’s Antigone, Chekhov’s A Marriage Proposal, Molière’s School for Wives and Maurice Maeterlinck’s The Blind to contemporary Urdu adaptations and festival performances. His collaborative projects include Lakeer based on Manto’s partition stories and Wasawasa a reimagining of John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt. Beyond the stage, Adil is deeply engaged in Dastangoi and Urdu narrations, presenting classical and modern texts in ways that bring the richness of Urdu literature into performative, communal spaces. His storytelling combines literary depth with theatrical immediacy, offering audiences a space for both reflection and connection. Adil continues to develop theatre as a space of dialogue and imagination, with a focus on creating performances that are socially resonant, artistically daring and rooted in lived experience.

A hub of creativity and performance, bringing together dance, drama, music, and storytelling.
